Privacy policy
The short version: this is a static informational site with no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. The only data involved is standard server logs and Google Analytics measurement. Effective date: July 16, 2026.
What this site is — and isn't
LastMinuteTrips.net is a static collection of travel guides. There is nothing to sign up for: no user accounts, no comments, no newsletter, no booking engine and no payment processing. We never ask for your name, email address or payment details anywhere on the site. That removes most of what a privacy policy usually has to cover — what remains is described below.
Server logs
Like virtually every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs: the IP address a request came from, the page requested, the date and time, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist for security, debugging and abuse prevention. They are not used to build profiles of visitors, are not combined with other data sources, and are retained only as long as the hosting provider's standard rotation keeps them.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, which guides people read and how they find the site — that's what tells us which pages to improve. In practical terms this means:
- Google Analytics sets cookies (or uses similar identifiers) in your browser to distinguish visits and sessions.
- It collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This data is transmitted to and processed by Google under its own privacy terms.
- We look only at aggregate reports. We do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors, and we do not use it for advertising or remarketing.
If you'd rather not be measured, you have several options: use your browser's settings or a content/tracker blocker to refuse analytics cookies and scripts, browse in a private window, or install Google's own opt-out mechanism for its analytics service. The site's content works exactly the same with analytics blocked.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies of its own. The only cookies you'll encounter here are the Google Analytics cookies described above. Blocking or deleting them does not affect any functionality.
Affiliate links (if and where present)
The site may in future include affiliate links — links to travel sellers that can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Where such links exist, clicking one takes you to a third-party website with its own privacy policy, and the destination site (not us) may set cookies to attribute the referral. We do not receive personal information about you from these programs — at most, aggregate reporting that a click or purchase occurred. Our editorial policy explains how affiliate links are handled editorially. Any page you land on after leaving this site is governed by that site's own privacy practices, which we don't control — this applies to all external links, affiliate or not.
When you contact us
If you get in touch through the route described on our contact page, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your email address and your message. We use it only to reply and to act on what you've told us (for example, correcting a guide). We don't add you to any list, and we don't share your correspondence with anyone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, data-protection law (such as the GDPR in Europe or state privacy laws in the US) may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we hold essentially no personal data — analytics is aggregate, and contact messages are the only thing tied to a person — exercising these rights is usually as simple as asking. Reach us via the contact page and we'll respond to any privacy request, including deleting past correspondence.
Children
The site is general-audience travel content and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If the site's data practices change — for example, if affiliate links or a newsletter are added — this policy will be updated first and the effective date at the top revised. Material changes will be noted on this page rather than buried.
